The non-CORE workshops are workshops in teaching & learning which are not compulsory for lecturers, but which are strongly recommended. They include workshops on the following:

2.  TOOLS FOR BLENDED LEARNING – PART 1

This workshop explores the use of online technology and software to enhance students’ learning. Some of the most popular online apps for  education are demonstrated.

3. TOOLS FOR BLENDED LEARNING – PART 2

This workshop is a continuation of PART 1.  It introduces Moodle, Webex and Microsoft Mix.

4.  TEACHING HIGHER-ORDER THINKING SKILLS

This workshop looks at teaching higher-order thinking (HOT) skills to students. It explores the techniques involved in teaching at this level.

a. Differentiating HOT skills from LOT skills
b. Incorporating HOT skills into teaching
c. Incorporating HOT questions in assessments.
